Adding Custom Fonts to Figma

Adding Custom Fonts to Figma

Here are the instructions from Figma but at the time I couldn’t find anything that explained how to upload a downloaded font. As a Mac user, this is the approach that worked for me:

  1. If using Figma in the browser, download the font installer
  2. Download your font to your local machine in .ttf or .otf format
  3. Open the Font Book app which is a native app on MacOS
  4. Drag and drop the font files into Font Book
  5. Refresh the webpage in Figma
  6. When you click a textbox, and click on the font name to open the font selector, you will see an option “Installed by you”.
  7. Your fonts will be listed there!
